In June this year the ADS launched an online searchable database of cruck buildings in Britain compiled by the Vernacular Architecture Group (VAG). This data base extends the Special Collections section of ArchSearch, where similar resources are located. The database contains information on the name, location, function and condition of the cruck buildings with further details on the crucks themselves as well as bibliographic references.
This useful resource complements the other building related collections that the Vernacular Architecture Group make available through the ADS. As well as the database of cruck buildings, VAG provides online access to its Bibliography and has recently updated its authoritative index to over 1000 Dendrochonology determinations in the UK.
