Opening Doors

Interaction is the theme of this newsletter, and it's also the theme of the next six months at the ADS. In June we will be contributing to a specialist seminar on metadata organised by the Performing Arts Data Service, and in July will be running our own event for fieldworkers, as well as contributing to an AHDS-led session at the International Medieval Congress at the University of Leeds. These are in addition to departmental seminars at the start of the next term, and a suite of conferences in September.

The most important date in the diary for the next few months is 17th June - the 'Opening Doors' conference. Organised by HEIRNET, it is anticipated that 'Opening Doors' will identify important agenda items for the future direction of information services for the cultural heritage sector. This will contribute to wider policy discussions about portals, people and information.
