Aims
The aim of this tutorial is to:

• Learn to plan, conduct and report on a piece of fieldwork
• Create a computer-based record of a monument, called a Virtual Walkabout
• Understand how digital images are taken, manipulated and preserved

Objectives
By the end of this tutorial you will have:

• Planned and carried out a photographic survey of a monument of your choice
• Processed the images you took of the monument using a computer so that they are in suitable digital formats
• Downloaded the Virtual Walkabout programme from the Archaeology Data Service website into your own file area
• Correctly entered your images into the Virtual Walkabout programme
• Created a functioning Virtual Walkabout for your monument
